The human behind the SEO & content advice
I’m Craig Stewart: a writer, SEO consultant, and content strategist with over 20 years’ experience in journalism, marketing, and digital audience growth.
I help individuals and businesses get found online and talk to their audience in a way that makes sense and gets results. I try to avoid using confusing jargon, and instead aim to provide practical advice and hands-on support. As a former colleague of mine once said, “[Craig’s] a great communicator and will talk to you in plain English you can understand.”
My background
I started my career in journalism, working as a writer, sub-editor, and editor for national magazines and international websites. Along the way, I developed a keen eye for what makes for good content for readers and for search engines.
In amongst this, I was editor of Creative Bloq, the world’s largest website for the creative industry. Here is my Creative Bloq author page, where you’ll find a list of my bylined articles that haven’t yet been hijacked by another author during an SEO refresh!
After Creative Bloq, I moved into digital marketing and SEO, leading audience growth for well-known brands like Stuff, Amateur Photographer, Men’s Fitness, and Haynes Publishing. I’ve run marketing departments, built websites, designed content strategies, and even published a book (‘Car Hacks’, in case you’re curious).
I’ve also grown my own projects from the ground up, like taking a football supporters’ website from 30k to 3m pageviews per month. That was in my spare time (come on you Reds!)
Now, I use all that experience to help other businesses make sense of their content and SEO challenges.
How I work
I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions or selling packages for the sake of it. I prefer to understand what’s holding you or your business back, then I work with you to fix it.
Whether that’s through an SEO audit, content strategy, or ongoing consultancy, my approach is always:
- Straight-talking
- Practical
- Focused on the results that matter most to you
I’m just as happy working with SMEs and B2B companies as I am with larger brands. What matters is whether I can add value, and if I can’t, I’ll tell you.

Non-work stuff!
Outside of work, I’m a trip-hop DJ, and a WSET-certified drinks specialist (fancy way of saying I know my way around a good bottle). I’m a Scot living in beautiful Somerset in England’s West Country with my family, and try to keep life balanced between work, music, and keeping up with two fabulous, energetic kids.
